For parents

Why parents choose Chanel Sings

Parents look for more than a pleasant lesson. They want a qualified coach who takes their child's voice seriously, protects it as it develops, and reports progress clearly and honestly.

Private 1-to-1 lessons

Your teen receives the coach's undivided attention, without the distractions or peer comparison of a group class.

Safe, healthy technique

Teen voices are still developing. We build breath support and range gradually, and never force notes during voice changes.

Progress you can see

Clear goals from the first lesson, with updates for parents on what has improved and what comes next.

Candid, constructive feedback

Students receive a clear, objective view of their voice, delivered with care in a studio where mistakes are part of learning.

Lessons built around your teen's goal

Whatever they are working towards

DSA Vocal Preparation

Audition song selection, a polished performance, and interview confidence for Direct School Admission.

Graded Singing Exams

Syllabus-aligned technique and repertoire, taught by a London College of Music Grade 8 Distinction holder.

Competitions & Auditions

Xin Yao, school singing competitions, choir and CCA auditions — coached by a former Xin Yao Top 16 finalist.

Confidence & Joy

Not every teen is chasing a trophy. Singing well builds self-assurance that carries into class presentations and beyond.

Growing voices need the right care

Teen voices are still changing

A teenager's voice is still developing. The wrong training can cause strain; the right training turns these years into a strong foundation for life.

Boys: when the voice breaks

Between roughly 12 and 15, the larynx grows quickly and the voice can crack or drop unexpectedly. Singing continues gently through this stage, song keys are adjusted, and notes are never forced before the voice is ready.

Girls: changes too

Girls' voices also change, often sounding breathier or less stable for a period. Breath support and careful range work help the voice settle stronger than before.

Habits that last

The teenage years are when vocal habits form. Healthy technique learned now prevents strain and hoarseness, and avoids the habits many adult students later need to correct.

Questions parents ask

Parent FAQ

What age do you teach?

Teen lessons are designed for secondary school and JC students, roughly ages 12 to 18. Adults are welcome too.

Can I sit in on my teen's lesson?

Yes — parents are welcome to sit in on the trial lesson so you can see the teaching style and ask questions directly.

My child has never had lessons. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Many students start as complete beginners. The trial lesson assesses their starting point and we build from there.

Can you help with DSA or school auditions?

Yes. We work on audition song choice, performance polish, stage presence and interview confidence. Always check the school's DSA requirements and MOE's DSA-Sec page for current dates.

Is singing safe while my son's voice is breaking?

Yes, with the right approach. We keep exercises within a comfortable range, adjust song keys, and never push for high notes while the voice settles.

How often should my teen have lessons?

Weekly lessons work best for steady progress. The Regular Package of 4 × 45-minute lessons fits a typical month.

Where are lessons held?
